march madness

It is time again for the madness of march! (I’m ignoring the fact that I haven’t posted anything for awhile.)

The biggest news of the tournament has happened before the tournament has even started. Yes, I know, the First Four started today, but does that really count? I mean, how did we go from a simple “play-in game” to the First Four?
Anyway, the biggest news is that No. 1 seed Syracuse will be without star player Fab Melo for the tournament because of an eligibility issue. This is bad for Syracuse because he’s one of the best players in the country and they don’t play as well without him, and it’s bad for everyone else, because we won’t get to hear announcers say “Fab Melo.”
What a great name, huh? Fab Melo. It’s like a Hollywood stage name almost. No, it’s more like a 1970’s street name. Like Huggy Bear. or Shaft. I can just picture Tracey Morgan wearing a plaid pastel suit and saying “Hello, I’m Fab Melo!”
